At Paws Vet Clinic, we have been providing compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care to pets and their families for over 25 years. We started as a small clinic and have grown to become one of the most trusted names in veterinary care.
We believe that every pet deserves the best possible care. We treat each pet as an individual, taking the time to get to know them and their unique needs. Our philosophy is based on providing personalized care and building lasting relationships with our clients.
Hi, my name is Wendy Holst. I graduated in 1994 from Kansas State University. I practiced in East Mesa and Fountain Hills before opening my own practice in 1998. In November of 2009, we moved to our beautiful new location. I’ve always had a love for animals and will give you the honest “scoop.” I personally have two dogs, a rescue from Mexico named Pike and I inherited my parents’ Chihuahua named Andy. I recently bought a rescued Maine coon kitty home named Nachocat.
I have 22yrs of clinic experience and started my journey graduating with honors from PMI in 1997. I worked for Dr. Ralph Slusher for six (6) years focusing on small animal medicine. In 2011, I went to shelter medicine with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control, focusing on spays and neuters. I transitioned into the veterinary business office where I was the lead and helped with animal intake and continued my clinic experience to use vaccinations and animal handling. I joined the Paws team in 2021, where I have grown into my position as Clinic Manager. My love of animals has followed me home as we have a full house! With the help of my loving husband and sons, we currently with 6 dogs, 3 cats, a parrot, chickens, and 4 sulcata tortoises. My interests also include breeding and showing Rex rabbits. I also enjoy helping 4H kids get started and have a passion for fancy rats.
Hello, my name is Majerle and I'm the friendly face you'll see at the front desk here at Paws Vet Clinic. I've always had a passion for animals and love being able to assist our clients and their companions. I'm dedicated to ensuring a smooth visit for every pet and their owner. In the time that I’ve worked at Paws I’ve built strong relationships with our clients and their pets. When I'm not working, you can find me taking care of my zoo of animals or hanging out with my friends and family. I have three dogs, two cats, a rabbit and a pot belly pig. Most of our clients are familiar with my tripod chihuahua Prince that sleeps under my desk making sure everyone gets their senior and military discounts. He is the one who got me the job here at Paws! Back in 2021, I brought Prince in for his 1 year follow up after he got his leg amputated due to cancer. I am excited to get to know you and your pets, and look forward to helping you with all your veterinary needs!
Hi! My name is Kalee Soto, and I'm a Veterinary Technician with a passion for animal care and a commitment to providing the best possible service. My role involves assisting veterinarians and performing medical tests, and ensuring the well-being of our furry friends. I take pride in my ability to handle various responsibilities with routine check-ups. I'm thrilled to be part of a profession that makes a difference in the lives of animals and their owners every day.
Hi, I'm Chelsey! I graduated high school in 2023, and I'm so excited to be working as a vet assistant in 2024! Growing up surrounded by animals has really helped and shaped my career path for me. My passion for helping them had continued to grow year after year and now I’m finally taking my first steps as a vet assistant! Although I have a long way to go, my dream is to continue my education in veterinary medicine and become a veterinarian, so that I can make a positive impact on the lives of your beloved furry friends and you as the owner! When I'm not working, I enjoy playing video games with my online friends and boyfriend. The game I tend to play is mostly Overwatch 2 which is a team based game that can get really annoying sometimes…I would also draw with charcoal but I haven’t gotten the motivation just yet to start drawing again. Charcoal itself is incredibly messy and that’s what I love about it, there’s no erasing if you make a mistake (you could), you just keep going over it and smudging the paper until you get what you like! Well this is me! I can’t wait to meet you and your furry companions soon! I’m looking forward to building relationships with everyone and providing the best care possible!
I, BJ Guminski, D. V. M., of small body and goofy mind I’m not a serious person unless dealing with pets. I enjoy both dogs and cats as well as horses. Right now my biggest horse is an Akita. His playmate is a miniature German shepherd. She weighs 33 pounds and has an attitude of a Chihuahua. I’m also a grandma, my male and female had a wonderful time one evening and gave me three grandsons. Other than my pets I enjoy hiking, backpacking, and swimming. I graduated from Washington State University in 1995 and I look forward working with you and your furry family.
